BEAUTY HACK #1
Store your Eye Cream and Nail Polish in the Fridge
Have you ever noticed how eye creams are packaged? Depending on the brand, most eye creams are sold in tubes with metal tips. These metal tips keep your product cool to further help deflate the puffiness around your eyes. What if your product doesn’t have a metal tip? Not to worry! You can get the exact same effect by keeping your eye cream in your refrigerator! Along with eye cream, storing your nail polish in the fridge can prevent the polish from separating, keeping its true-color longer.
BEAUTY HACK #2
Layer your Skin-care Products from Thinnest to Thickest
Think of your skin like a sponge. You want your skin to soak up all that good and probably expensive product you’re applying. To keep your skin healthy, it’s important to layer your products in the correct order. Your thinner, more water-like products such as serums should be applied first, then apply your heavier creams and oils. Oils are last because they help to seal in the products underneath. If you apply the oil first, you’re not going to see the benefits of your lighter products!
BEAUTY HACK #3
You can Curl your Hair much Faster than you thought
Instruction manuals tell us to take one-inch sections of our hair and roll over each of them with your iron. This tactic usually takes up to 30 minutes or more to finish your entire head. Instead try this! After blow drying your hair straight, throw it into a high ponytail on top of your head and split it into four even sections. Roll your wand around each section and set it with texturizing spray, and let your hair cool off. Once it’s cool, shake it out and voila!
BEAUTY HACK #4
Never Underestimate the Power of a Bold Lipstick
Ever wonder why make-up artists choose lipstick as their “desert island” beauty product pick? Lipstick is one of the most versatile beauty products. Not only can lipstick be used on your lips, but you can also use it on the apples of your cheeks and eyelids to create a beautiful look. Try a hot pink or coral for the summer and a classic red for the winter!
BEAUTY HACK #5
Applying Under-Eye Concealer
The best way to apply an under-eye concealer is by drawing an upside-down triangle at the base of your eye with the tip extending down towards your cheek. Not only will this conceal dark circles, but it creates an illusion of a lifted face. Confused? Think about it like this: You’re holding a flashlight against your cheek and shining the light right underneath your eye, drawing the focus upward. For an even more elevated look, try adding concealer underneath your brow arch to brighten your face making them pop!
BEAUTY HACK #6
Keep your Mascara Fresh!
Did you know that you’re only supposed to keep your mascara for 3 months? Beyond that point, it can begin to collect bacteria which can lead to eye infections which would be no Bueno. However, sometimes mascara can dry and clump before the 3 months’ timeline. Never fear, you can revive your mascara by adding a few drops of saline solution!
BEAUTY HACK #7
Turn your Pencil Eyeliner into a Gel Formula
Pencil eyeliners tend to be difficult to apply and easy to smudge, so how can you make it easier? To make your pencil liner easier to apply and longer lasting, try heating the tip! You only need to heat it for a second, then let it cool and apply. The application will be seamless and last you all day long!
BEAUTY HACK #8
De-Puffing your Eyes
The quickest way to de-puff and tighten your eyes is by applying a cold, caffeine-based product. For example, use leftover cold green tea bags under your eyes for 5 to 6 minutes before applying your skincare products and make-up. Another way to de-puff your eyes is by placing two cold spoons and under your eyes for at least 5 minutes, or if you can tolerate it.
