Preparation

To prepare for a laser resurfacing treatment, you will need to avoid excessive sun exposure and stop using nicotine products and/or smoking for approximately 6 weeks. You should also stay hydrated and stop taking medications and/or supplements that thin your blood. Dr. Bandy can recommend skincare products to use at home before your procedure.

Treatment Process

On the day of your treatment, you should arrive with a clean face without makeup or skincare products. Our team will cleanse your skin, and Dr. Bandy will administer the laser energy with a small handheld device in an even pattern.

The laser energy generates heat to stimulate collagen production, improving skin tone and texture over time. Dr. Bandy will pass the laser device over your skin in an even motion; depending on its condition, she may make multiple passes. The session can last up to an hour, depending on the condition of your skin and the size of the area you want to treat.

After Your Treatment

While laser resurfacing treatments do not require as extensive a recovery as surgical approaches, your skin will need several days to heal after your treatment.

Taking good care of your skin is critically important during your recovery.
